Blacklight Solutions is proud to be a part of the technology community here in Austin and we are excited to spotlight our new leadership positions in the community, upcoming Data Science events, and two community-focused fundraising campaigns.

The Association of Computing Machinery is the largest professional organization specifically for computer scientists in the world. The Austin Chapter of ACM recently elected Blacklight Solution’s own Chance Coble as the 2019 Chair. Blacklight Solutions is excited to be closely involved in the growth of the ACM community and we know Chance Coble will bring years of experience and leadership to the organization.

The ACM is hosting a talk present by Jonathan Mugan, a recognized specialist in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. Jonathan will be delivering a talk entitled, “Generating Natural-Language Text with Neural Networks” on April 24th. You can register for the event here https://www.meetup.com/Austin-ACM-SIGKDD/events/260357229/

The ACM is an NPO committed to spreading free computer science education. All ACM events are free and open to the public and include talks, workshops, and more in-depth courses.

This month for Blacklight has been all about community, from our fundraising for Sunshine Camps to our Game of Thrones Deadpool benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  With the local ACM we get to stay involved in the community education and help professionals just entering their careers in Data Science find the right foundations and make great connections to get them started.  We hope to see you on April 24th at the talk.
