Our community work is part of our DNA, and we challenge ourselves all the time to find time in our schedules to contribute to the community.  Whether it is becoming one of the biggest fundraisers for Austin Sunshine Camps  or through our community education work with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) we continue to press our mission forward of being a community focused company.

This time the team has really gone out of their way.  I’m so proud of our team for spending their off-hours to create a Game of Thrones charity Deadpool.   This will be like March Madness with comically gruesome death.  What’s even better is they built this with Blacklight’s own platform, which can quickly organize complex data, present it and even use it to drive web applications, messaging or mobile experiences.   Using our own tools, the team gathered data on the show’s characters and built a database of those that would be in this final season fast.  Then a simple web form was created so people can pick their players and as that happens the commonly selected players are included.

What’s the cause?   This year’s game will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.    In order to get updates on your scores and position, each entering participant will be asked for $10 per entry.  100% of that money less transaction fees will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the end of the show.   Be sure to play and pay your fee so you can stay apprised on your picks, find out how you did and see the final moment when we hand our collections over to St. Jude at the end of the season!   We will be reaching out to you after you create your entry for the donation and will accept payments through venmo or you can make a direct donation to St. Jude and send us the receipt after we contact you.

So how do you play?   Head over to our Game of Thrones Charity Deadpool entry form and pick eight characters you believe are going to die in the final season.  In each row you can select your character and the episode in which you believe they will die.    You get 8 picks with each entry and you can make as many entries as you like!   Just keep in mind, once and entry is submitted it can’t be changed so play wisely.
